Set in a small New Mexico town during the pandemic in 2020, Eddington mixes western, political satire and social criticism. Phoenix plays the local sheriff, who goes on a collision course with the mayor played by Pascal. The conflict is intensified by fake news, protests, misinformation and videos on social media that go viral as the population tries to survive the chaos.
The trailer reveals a montage of posts, lives and broadcasts that expose the behind-the-scenes of the city of Eddington: fiery speeches, videos of protests with the sheriff being accused of assault and even posts about Michael Jackson and 9/11.
In addition to the protagonists Joaquin Phoenix e Pedro Pascalthe production also features the winner of the Oscar of Best Actress Emma Stone (Poor Creatures), Austin Butler (Dune: Part 2), Deirdre OβConnell (To Drift), Micheal Ward (Empire of Light) e Clifton Collins Jr (The Bricklayer).
