the X-Men at the end of their race in the latest teaser

After a first teaser dedicated to the return of Steve “dad” Rogers, and a second also very serious dedicated to Thor, Disney continues as planned the teasing ofAvengers : Doomsday with a third short video while waiting for the real trailer. But this one certainly raises the stakes by confirming that the X-Men will indeed be there alongside the Avengers, the New Avengers or even the Fantastic Four (and many others) to fight against Robert Downey Jr.’s Dr. Doom.

X-Men mark the spot

If the X‑Men have already been seen, sometimes quickly, in the MCU over the last Marvel films and series, this time things should be a little more substantial. In the teaser, we can indeed see the famous mutant mansion in ruins, but also three central characters: Charles Xavier, Magneto and Cyclops. All are played by their original actors from the 20th Century Fox era: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and James Marsden.

Everything in this teaser suggests that the situation is desperate for our heroes, and that they are perhaps finally being introduced into the MCU to better leave it feet first after their fight with Dr. Doom. Cyclops, in his original costume, delivers a powerful despair ray from his knees, while the aging Charles Xavier and Magneto discuss death over a (last?) game of chess.

Avengers : Doomsday arrives on December 16, 2026 in cinemas.
