Tangled: Disney has found the heroes of its future live-action remake

Disney is finally moving forward with its live-action film project Rapunzel and chose its cast. Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim will play the characters of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

After long months of research, Disney studios have selected the two actors who will play the main duo of Rapunzel. Australian actress Teagan Croft, seen in the DC series Titanswill thus lend his features to the princess with very, very long hair, while a regular at Mickey’s house, Milo Manheim (franchise Zombies) will play the thief Flynn Rider.

In the animated film Rapunzel from 2010, based on the Brothers Grimm tale, Rapunzel is a young girl with magical hair kept prisoner in a mysterious tower. She is then freed by the most wanted bandit in the kingdom.

The live-action version, written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder) and directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman, Better Man), will follow a similar plot and contain musical numbers.

Croft and Manheim will thus reprise the roles previously played by Mandy Moore (This is Us) et Zachary Levi (Shazam). The animated film Rapunzel had mixed success upon its release, generating $591 million at the box office, but it is now considered a modern classic from Disney Studios.

As a reminder, Disney had suspended its live-action remake project of Rapunzel last April, following the box office failure of his adaptation of Snow White. Ultimately, the film was put back on track in October after the huge theatrical success of Lilo & Stitch.

While waiting to know who will play the role of Mother Gothel in this new feature film – a few months ago, the rumor mentioned Scarlett Johansson – Disney fans can rediscover the film Rapunzel by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno streaming on Disney+.
