SGAE Foundation celebrates a ‘cinema Christmas’ with the best Spanish films of the year at the Sala Berlanga in Madrid
MADRID, December 19, 2025 (Europa Press) – SGAE Foundation celebrates the ‘Christmas film’ series at the Sala Berlanga in Madrid, which will bring together the best Spanish films of the year from December 23 to January 10. Specifically, you can see films such as ‘Los Domingos’, ‘Pilgrimage’, ‘Maspalomas’, ‘My friend Eva’ or ‘Nosotros’, as reported by the institution. The programming will begin next Tuesday with ‘Los Domingos’, a film that won the Forqué Awards and is a favorite in the Goya race, where the director and screenwriter, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, confirms her commitment to family intimacy. In ‘Maspalomas’, by Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi, its protagonist has to abandon his idyllic life in the south of Gran Canaria to return to a gray San Sebastián where he once again represses his homosexuality; while in ‘My friend Eva’, a woman played by Nora Navas decides to break up her marriage after 50 years of age and in ‘Romería’, by Carla Simón, a “sensitive portrait of traditions and bonds that last beyond the stigma” is made. The series will also hold an open discussion on January 3 with the director, Helena Taberna, after the screening of her feature film ‘Nosotros’, about a couple going through contemporary problems such as precariousness, “turbocapitalist” rhythms or interdependence.
