This adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel, directed by David Fincher, received bitter reviews upon its release, but gradually became an unshakable cult hit, starring Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Jared Leto.
David Fincher’s Fight Club is already 26 years old, but it has lost none of its impact since its release in 1999. Even back then, the adaptation – faithful to the novel and full of acidic humor – was extremely controversial. The themes covered, the ambivalent characters and the representation of violence were shocking, despite not having achieved great box office success at its debut.
Over the years, however, Fight Club has become an absolute cult success – and deservedly so. This anarchic, fun and at the same time disturbing satire is undoubtedly one of the most creative and daring works by the talented David Fincher, where form and content complement each other perfectly.
