Started in 2010, the saga Dragons from Dreamworks has quickly established itself as one of the highest quality animation franchises in recent years. Created by the duo Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, already behind the cult Lilo & Stitchthe film won over spectators thanks to its astonishing rereading of Viking myths, its mature story, its irresistible humor and its truly ambitious staging. By focusing more on emotion and its characters than on repeated gags, Dreamworks has succeeded in a high-flying trilogy, available in full on Netflix.

Goldfinger
007 is tasked with investigating billionaire Auric Goldfinger. But what was only supposed to be a surveillance mission ultimately turns out to be the “heist of the century”, and a very important and dangerous affair for the British agent…
Third film in the franchise (after James Bond 007 vs. Dr. No et Good kisses from Russia), Goldfinger has what the previous two opuses lacked: a real charismatic villain. The plot is more ambitious and gripping, and marvelously establishes the “James Bond formula” outlined so far, with great bursts of cult scenes and phrases, and iconic characters (the victim covered in gold, the terrifying Oddjob…). In short, Sean Connery’s best Bond.
Are you fans of Agent 007? That’s good, almost the entire franchise (except the last Dying can wait) is available on Netflix in January.

After At Knives Out in 2019 and Glass Onion in 2022, Benoît Blanc returns for a third investigation, more gothic and complicated than ever, in the pure spirit of the so-called “closed room” police intrigue, in the spirit of the “Mystery of the Yellow Room”. Daniel Craig reprises the role of the Belgian detective, again in front of the camera from Rian Johnson, and accompanied by a stellar cast: Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church. A mystery as effective and surprising as ever, and one into which we obviously dive with pleasure.

Christmas wouldn’t really be Christmas for romantic souls without yet another viewing of this funny and touching Nancy Meyers film, carried by a quartet of charming lead actors (Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black) and filled with a beautiful holiday spirit. A classic.

A House Of Dynamite
When a missile of unknown origin is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.
This film signed by Kathryn Bigelow (Minesweepers, Zero Dark Thirty) and written by Noah Oppenheim (the series Zero Day) takes the same terrifying premise as Annie Jacobsen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “Nuclear War: A Scenario”, and delivers a thriller that never catches its breath, with ingenious construction and a sublime cast: Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, Jason Clarke, Greta Lee… If the ending will inevitably create debate, A House of Dynamite is a great and necessary film, one that will leave you gripping to your seat until the last minute.

Crazy Stupid Love
At just 40 years old, Cal Weaver is cheated on by his wife Emily. In today’s world of singles, he who hasn’t flirted for ages turns out to be a model of anti-seduction. He is then taken in charge by an attractive thirty-year-old, Jacob Palmer.
Crazy Stupid Love is one of the most successful romantic comedies of the 2000s. Both hilarious and very fair on the realities of love life, the film has the advantage of addressing the issue through an choral narrative and multiple characters, male and female. The mix brings a universal look to this emblematic subject of couples and love, and will please everyone. The cast bringing together big names (Emma Stone, Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, etc.) demonstrates magnificent alchemy and delivers cult scenes in abundance. Unavoidable.

Gender equality, class struggle, gender stereotypes, envy, jealousy… Director Ruben Östlund (The Square, Snow Therapy) sifts through social hypocrisy with virtuosity and reveals all its flaws. A gem as tasty as it is disturbing, hailed by the public and winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2022. An obviously corrosive, but jubilant satire, to be discovered without delay.
