Previously, the creators of ‘Stranger Things‘ commented on the decision to make Holly Wheeler one of the protagonists of the plot in the final season: “This was a new idea. We only knew about it when we started developing the fifth season, probably very early in the process. I don’t think (Holly) was even part of the action (in early drafts). That was a big step forward, going back and understanding the motivation of these children being taken. When we realized this, we were so excited to make Holly the focus of this new group of kids.”

It is worth remembering that the second volume of the last season will premiere on December 25th, at 10pm. The final chapter, however, is scheduled to be broadcast on December 31st at 10pm.
