Marty Supreme breaks new A24 box office record

Nobody holds Timothée Chalamet. The new film directed by Josh SafdieMarty Supreme, has just officially become the highest-grossing film in the history of A24 in the United Kingdom, surpassing the previous title holder, the thriller Civil war (2024), from Alex Garland.
In less than two weeks of showing, the dramatic comedy grossed around US$8.6 million in the British market. The resounding success is attributed not only to the strength of the cast — which includes Gwyneth Paltrow e Tyler, The Creator — but also to an aggressive and viral marketing campaign.
Chalamet dove headfirst into publicity, generating mile-long queues at pop-up stores and breaking the internet by participating in a rap remix and quoting the singer Susan Boyle as inspiration for the character. In the United States and Canada, the film has already grossed US$57.5 million.
Commercial performance comes with prestige: Chalamet, now a strong candidate for the Oscarjust won the award Critics’ Choice of Best Actor not last Sunday (4).
For Brazilians, the wait is almost over: Marty Supreme hits national cinemas on January 22nd.
