Jason Statham presents the trailer for his new action film, in which he joins forces with Gerard Butler’s favorite director
The film marks the star’s first collaboration with the filmmaker responsible for Mission of Survival and Final Destruction: The Last Refuge.
Jason Statham has become synonymous with action films, but like any Hollywood star he has better and worse films. Now, the actor has just released the trailer for Shelter, his new and impactful thriller in which he joins forces with Ric Roman Waugh, the favorite director of another big star of the genre, Gerard Butler.
The story of Shelter tells the story of a man (Statham) who lives on a remote island in Scotland and rescues a young girl from the sea. This act triggers a dangerous series of events that culminate in an attack on his home, forcing him to confront the situation.
Imminent debut
Shelter will be Waugh’s first collaboration with Statham, but his filmography includes titles such as Final Destruction: The Last Refuge – as well as its sequel, scheduled for theatrical release next year, Invasion of the Secret Service and Survival Mission, all starring Butler.
Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays and Bodhi Rae Breathnach round out the cast of this action thriller, which Statham also produces. Although his work in developing audiovisual projects is not as well known, he produced five other films, including The Fast and the Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Beekeeper: Revenge Network and Deadly Rescue.
The release of Shelter in the USA is scheduled for January 30, 2026, but, for now, it is not known when we will be able to see it in Brazilian cinemas, but it is possible that the release will take place in the first half of next year.
Statham still has four more projects on the horizon, including The Beekeeper 2, Rebellion and Fast & Furious 11.
