in the new horror Popeye there are also Betty Boop and Tarzan
The teaser trailer for the sequel, one of Popeye’s horror films, has arrived. It’s called Shiver Me Timbers 2 and Betty Boop and Tarzan make their debut among the characters.
Probably no one or almost none of us saw it Shiver Me Timbers (pirate expression loosely translated into Italian as “for a thousand whales”), one of the films that exploited the fact that Popeyethe legendary Popeye, is among the characters that have entered the public domain, to make a horror version of it. We’re sure that by searching online we’d be able to find it, but anyway the sequel has already arrivedproduced with the same low budget but above all, the authors assure, with the same level of gore and humour. Obviously the protagonist was immediately joined by two other characters now in the public domain, Tarzan e Betty Boop (on which there is already another horror film in the works). However, this is the teaser trailer for Shiver Me Timbers 2 – Chainsaw Are for Children.
Shiver Me Timbers 2 – what happens in the sequel
As in any self-respecting horror film, this time the resurrected monstrous Popeye is literally fished out by a stoned hippie and emerges from the sea to continue his bloody exploits in New York, to be precise in Little Italy, where he will massacre mafiosi. Olivia, now without a very powerful bionic hand, follows him to the Big Apple to avenge her brother’s death. Her journey takes her to a megaboss’ nightclub, where she befriends singer Betty Boop. Meanwhile, the boss learns that his long-lost son, now an adult, has been found after disappearing during a jungle vacation and guess what, he’s an ape man allied with Popeye. Olivia and Betty, aided by the mafia, must face the monstrous duo before it’s too late. He’s back at the helm of this new absurd but fun venture Paul Stephen MannWhile Tony Greer e Amy Mackie they return as Popeye and Olivia. The special effects are all handcrafted and the film, British madepresents itself as a love letter to grindhouse cinema and pulp comics, of which it unrestrainedly exploits all the most extreme expedients. Filming hasn’t finished yet (maybe it hasn’t started yet, we don’t know), so much so that the production, Alpake Entertainment, is launching a campaign on Indiegogowhich will launch on December 20, to find funding from fans. Rewards include victim roles in the film, production credits, props and more.
