Guillermo del Toro detonates the use of Artificial Intelligence in his speech at the Gotham Awards – CinePOP

The filmmaker Guillermo del Toro recently spoke about the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the cinema, concluding his speech at the Gotham Awards with the emphatic declaration: “F ** a-Sew,.

According to Deadline, during the awards ceremony, Del Toro praised the cast of his new project, ‘Frankenstein’reinforcing the value of human creation: “Their artistry shines through in every frame of this film, which was deliberately made by humans, for humans.”

He added, while extending his gratitude: “This film belongs to all of them, and I would like to extend our gratitude and say, ‘Fuck AI.’”

Del Toro said he read the classic novel by Mary Shelley for the first time at age 11, and that the work shaped his life. Fifty years later, he finally made the film.

“I understood…through her work and Boris Karloff’s first vision, that I didn’t belong in the world the way my parents, and the world, expected me to fit in.”these del Toro. “I belonged in a distant land inhabited only by monsters and misfits. They have been my family ever since.”

He continued, praising the new family he found on set: “Working with artists as extraordinary as Oscar (Isaac) and Jacob (Elordi) has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and in them I have found another family. They don’t play archetypes, they dramatize the human condition and the desire for connection in a world that misunderstands them both, in a world where pain only breeds more pain, which is, unfortunately, so urgent right now, until someone decides to break that cycle.”

‘Frankenstein’ is available on Netflix.

The film had an estimated budget of US$120 million.

“This movie has been on my mind since I was a kid. I’ve been trying to direct it for over 20 years. Some people think I’m a little obsessed with ‘Frankenstein,’ and they’re probably right. Over the decades, the character has melded with my mind that his story is basically an autobiography. It doesn’t get more personal than that,” declared the director.
