‘Bugonia’, with Emma Stone, opens in theaters – 11/27/2025


São Paulo

São Paulo cinemas receive ten new films this week. Among the highlights are “Bugonia”, a feature film by Yorgos Lanthimos with Emma Stone in the cast, and “Morra, Amor”, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson.

16th Brazilian French Film Festival
Formerly known as Varilux, it arrives in São Paulo to show new films from the European country. Running until December 10th, the event also pays homage to actor and director Pierre Richard. The program includes 6 films shown at the Cannes Festival; 5 are unreleased in Brazilian cinemas. In the capital, the festival takes place at the Cinesystem cinemas (Morumbi Town, Belas Artes Frei Caneca and Pompeia), Cine Segall, Espaço Petrobras de Cinema, Cine LT3, Cine Satyros Bijou, Reag Belas Artes, Cinépolis Jardim Pamplona and Cine Marquise. Beautiful Sounds Modern Times
In the November edition of Belas Sonoriza, the classic “Tempos Modernos”, directed and starring Charles Chaplin, will be shown. The film turns 90 years old and will have a live soundtrack by the São Paulo quartet Rock’n’Jazz. The film follows a worker who collapses while working and ends up being admitted to a mental hospital. When he leaves the hospital, he tries to lead a normal life.
